History
In 1993 Procede Twente BV was founded by Prof.dr.ir. Geert Verteeg and Dr.ir. Bert Heesink. As a spin-off company of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at the University of Twente, Procede is aimed at offering the industry the possibility of "one stop shopping" in obtaining combined knowledge from Procede and the University of Twente.
Depending on client demands, this can be either by direct project assignment to generate short-term solutions, by assigning a 1-year design task to the Process Development School or by sponsoring a 4-year PhD-project of scientific research aiming for application at longer term. Through Procede customer demands are matched swift and efficiently with an excellent and broad knowledge base.
Lucifer Desulphurization BV was founded in 2000 to develop desulphurization processes and technology. Lucifer developed in an international centre of expertise in gas/liquid processes and gas treating technology and has unique experimental equipment available.
In 2000 a cooperation was established with Prof. G. Weickert of the University Twente. This resulted in the founding of Procede Polymers BV. Procede Polymers is specialized in testing of polymerization catalysts at plant conditions in continuous reactors. For this purpose high pressure equipment is available.
To be able to further develop product development and to take up small scale production Procede Products BV was founded in 2000.
In 2003 the management of Procede decided to structure Procede further to the market demands and the Procede companies were placed under the active holding named Procede Group BV.
At present (may 2007) Procede employs about 30 people of which about 25 on a permanent basis. All Procede personnel have had education in chemical engineering, ranging from medium (MTS-) to PhD-level. Several professors at University of Twente act as senior consultants to Procede.
